Trump Just ENRAGED Obama With Who He Set Free Today – Remember These Two?

Jack Phillips, a Colorado native and cake artist, opened Masterpiece Cakeshop in 1993 and has joyfully served the community of Lakewood, Colorado for more than 20 years. In 2012 a gay couple wanted a wedding cake, but Phillips stated that their sexual lifestyle and marriage was against his religious beliefs.

President Donald Trump’s administration is siding with the baker. Forcing Phillips to bake a wedding cake for two men would be a violation of his constitutional rights, the Department of Justice declared on Thursday.

Homosexual couple: Charlie Craig & Dave Mullins

Phillips challenged a Colorado law that says he was wrong to turn away Charlie Craig and David Mullins in 2012. Citing religious beliefs should work for Christians like it does for Muslims…shouldn’t it.

Certainly, liberals will jump all over this saying ridiculous things such as, “then people don’t have to bake cakes for cops.” Being an officer of the law isn’t offending anyone’s religion, someone’s sexual orientation does.

After the gay couple was turned away from Phillips’ Cakeshop, Mullins and Craig took their fight to social media, the Colorado Civil Rights Commission and in court. An administrative law judge ruled against Phillips in December 2013, saying that designing and creating cakes for same-sex wedding ceremonies are not speech protected by the First Amendment.

A portion of the Justice Department brief that was released last week, read: “Forcing Phillips to create expression for and participate in a ceremony that violates his sincerely held religious beliefs invades his First Amendment rights.

In the view of the United States, a … First Amendment intrusion occurs where a public accommodations law compels someone to create expression for a particular person or entity and to participate, literally or figuratively, in a ceremony or other expressive event.”

Through all of this, Jack continues to trust in God’s plan for his life and for the future of Masterpiece Cakeshop. “I can trust Him and know that God is doing what he’s going to do. And if He’s chosen us to be a part of that, that’s quite an honor.”
